21-Day Corporate Fast | January 2 - 22, 2026

Dear SSBC Church Family,
Greetings in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As we prepare to enter year 2026, it is vital that we align our hearts, minds, and spirits with God’s will and direction for our lives. Therefore, as a church family, we will embark on a 21-day Corporate Fast from Friday, January 2, 2026, through Thursday, January 22, 2026. This sacred time of fasting and praying will be rooted in our foundational Scripture, 2 Chronicles 7:14,

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

Fasting and prayer are powerful spiritual disciplines for believers who are seeking the face of God. Together they help us get closer to God and position us to clearly hear His voice. During this time, we will seek God for personal renewal, corporate unity, and divine direction for the church and our individual lives. As we fast together as a congregation, I encourage you to make this season meaningful for your personal spiritual growth. Daily dedicate time for prayer, Scripture reading, and journaling.
The Daniel Fast is an opportunity to draw closer to God through fervent, focused prayer. The Daniel Fast is taken from the Bible, Daniel 10:2-3: In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

While on the fast:
  • Do not consume meat, sweets, sugars/sweeteners. No bread, dairy products, or alcoholic beverages.
  • Do consume beans & lentils, vegetables, and fruits.

During the fast:
We will join our Wednesday Noonday Prayer Call to pray corporately - dial-in: (518) 530-1840; access code: 689-878-294. In addition, Bishop advises to form prayer circles to strengthen and support each other.
Thanks you for your commitment to this sacred time of fasting and prayer. I anticipate hearing the testimonies of how God will move in your life and our church. May God bless and strengthen you during this journey.

In His Service,
Bishop Lanier C. Twyman, Sr.
Below are the 21 Corporate Prayer Targets and Scriptures that we will pray and stand together during the fast. As we agree corporately, please also take time to seek the Lord and develop personal prayer targets, supported by Scripture, as led by Holy Spirit.
